Before social media blew up, there were very few ways to get in contact with the right people or to promote yourself enough to make it big. Now, especially because of Tik Tok, there are so many creators that have been able to make a name for themselves since they are able to make so many different connections online. So many small businesses and creators have had incredible opportunities because of the way that TikTok was created. You do not have to be famous or well-known for your video to get viral or for whatever you are trying to promote to become successful.

As TikTok gets bigger and bigger, I have personally witnessed so many small businesses that were struggling, become an overnight success because of people coming together and supporting them after seeing a TikTok video that they posted. If you are wanting to start pursuing something that you are passionate about, but are scared that it won’t work out for you, listen to this story. One of my good friend’s dream was to make music and become a DJ. He started by just playing music for his friends and putting on small shows at his school, which was fun, but was not getting him to the place he wanted to get to.

Once TikTok became popular, he started to post his music online, and after a couple of months, he was getting more attention and more followers than he ever thought was possible. One of his songs ended up going viral and it gave him the opportunity to be able to perform at one of the biggest concerts in the world, Coachella! He now has a following of over 1 million people and is touring all over the world playing with large artists which he never thought was possible. This goes to show that because of the rise of social media, anything is possible and there is no better time than now to pursue your dreams!
